Why is a cordless lawn mower better?

There are advantages and disadvantages to using a battery powered lawn mower to cut your lawn. It is down to you as an individual to decide if the benefits outweigh the downsides.

I decided to switch to a cleaner, greener method after being a professional gardener for over 20 years. The final straw was after a visit to my doctor due to breathing difficulties. My doctor informed me that the most likely cause was years of breathing in the toxic fumes from gas powered machinery.

This was enough to make me rethink my whole lifestyle. I couldn’t change from being a gardener, I’ve done it all my working life and love what I do. The only alternative was to change the tools I use.

Obviously, as it is my profession I do gardens for many clients at their homes and business locations. I do not always have access to a mains socket and using a generator would kind of defeat the object of going greener. The only viable alternative was cordless but as I rely on my tools to pay my bills I needed reliability.

So I started my search for the best cordless lawn mower 2019 as it was last year when I made the switch. This led me to a number of places where I could research and find the tools I needed. I needed more than just a lawn mower but I felt that this was a good place to begin.

After several days of reading I decided that the best option for me would be a tool set that could share batteries. Buying as many batteries as I could with each tool as I do not want to run out halfway through a clients garden. I purchased my new cordless tool set in September 2019, not leaving me much time before winter set in. The real test will be in a few weeks when I begin working for customers again. I did bust out the lawn mower a few days ago and tested on a small patch of grass outside my window. It did the job easily and I couldn’t believe how quiet it was compared to my gas guzzler.

So my advice is, if you are considering a cleaner method to keep your lawn tidy you should definitely go for battery power. So far I am super impressed.
